Grand Reopening: Solomon’s Old Trail Set to Welcome Customers After Extensive Renovations

July 30th 2024

After almost one year of extensive work, Solomon’s Old Trail is celebrating its Grand Reopening. A complete renovation has transformed the space into a new 25,000 sq ft neighborhood grocery store with all new and upgraded equipment, lighting, fixtures, refrigeration and air conditioning systems.  Energy-saving features were also included in the new store design, which is a part of a $1.7m company-wide investment in solar energy. All of the refrigeration and air conditioning are energy-efficient and powered by solar energy.

“We are excited to welcome our customers to the newly remodeled store,” says Gavin Watchorn, CEO & President of AML Foods.  “Our goal is to always deliver the best shopping experiences to our customers, so continuously investing in our grocery stores to ensure that they represent the best standards is always top of mind.  We are confident that given all of the renovations to the location, we have addressed all of the concerns customers have expressed in the past, and we would like to officially welcome them back to enjoy all of the great things we have done to the store, with them in mind”.

Solomon’s Old Trail has been a beloved community store for the past 34 years, known for offering real quality and savings. The newly renovated store is no exception and boasts aisle after aisle of great value and product assortment from fresh produce and meat to groceries. There is also a new deli with a variety of specialty meats & cheeses, along with a new and improved grab and go program, featuring a new hot-food and salad bar, making it the perfect option for lunch or dinner take home.

Mr. Watchorn went on to explain that since the Solomon’s Old Trail store is now completed the focus is shifted to finishing Cost Right Nassau which is expected to open in its new location in November.  “We are confident that both locations will meet the high standards we aim to uphold for our customers and our communities”, says Watchorn.

To celebrate the grand reopening, Solomon’s Old Trail will host a community family event on Saturday, August 3rd from 12:00 noon to 5:00pm. This event will include special product promotions, free sampling and giveaways along with a variety of activities for the whole family including live Music, Spin & Win Prizes, Bouncy Castles, Free Face Painting, Kiddie Mascots, Balloons and more.  There will also be a Junkanoo Rush-Out at 4:00pm. All are invited and the entire Solomon’s Old Trail team looks forward to welcoming you back this coming Saturday!
