AML Foods’ Snack It Forward Campaign Raises $10,000 to Help Families Prepare for Back-to-School

September 2nd, 2026

As families across The Bahamas prepare for a new school year, the financial demands of back-to-school shopping can place additional pressure on households already working hard to make ends meet. Recognizing the importance of supporting families during this time, AML Foods Limited’s third annual Snack It Forward campaign has raised $10,000 to help provide nutritious food and snacks to children and families in need.

The month-long campaign, held from July 27 to August 27, 2026, invited customers to make a difference at the register through cash donations or by donating their existing MySolomon’s Smart Rewards points. Customers contributed $8,789.45, and AML Foods contributed the remaining $1,210.55 to reach the campaign’s $10,000 goal.

The proceeds will be divided between The Salvation Army and The Bahamas Feeding Network, with each organization receiving $5,000 to support families and children experiencing food insecurity, particularly during the back-to-school season.

“Back-to-school is an exciting time for children, but for many families, the cost of getting children ready for a new school year can be overwhelming,” said Renea Bastian, Vice President of Marketing & Communications at AML Foods Limited. “Beyond school supplies, uniforms and other necessities, families also have the ongoing responsibility of ensuring their children have nutritious meals and snacks throughout the school day. Through Snack It Forward, our customers have helped us provide additional support to families who need it most.”

Bastian added, “We believe every child should have the opportunity to start the school year ready to learn, grow and thrive. By bringing the campaign total to $10,000, we are helping The Salvation Army and The Bahamas Feeding Network continue their important work of providing food assistance to children and families. We are grateful to our customers for coming together once again to make a meaningful difference in the lives of Bahamian families.”

Now in its third year, Snack It Forward reflects AML Foods’ continued commitment to supporting the communities it serves and addressing food insecurity across The Bahamas. The campaign also demonstrates the impact that can be achieved when customers, businesses, community organizations and media partners come together around a shared goal.

AML Foods also expressed its appreciation to its media partners for helping spread the message and encouraging the public to participate. AMG – Hot 91 and Vibes 93, Radio House, ZNS and The Tribune supported the campaign by using their platforms to raise awareness and encourage donations.

The campaign was supported at participating Solomon’s, Solomon’s Fresh Market and Cost Right locations in Nassau and Freeport.

With AML Foods’ contribution completing the $10,000 fundraising goal, the company presented the proceeds to The Salvation Army and The Bahamas Feeding Network, providing both organizations with additional resources to help families access nutritious food and snacks as children return to school.
