But unless you’re a vet with an X-ray machine, intestinal tracts aren’t easy to see, so here are a few more visible signs that your pet is healthy:

Skin is smooth, pliable, elastic and firm

Coat is soft, glossy and bright

Gums should be pink in color and not bleed

Teeth should not be loose

Eyes should be bright and attentive—and lids should be pink to red
